Stankbait formed in fall of 2005 with post members of Cincinnati's Black Magic Rhythm, The Bad Assumption, and BuBu Klan. Gary Guzzardo and Doug Brown, aka Stringy D, have been writing music together in bands since 1990 and after the break of BMR, decided to try something new. With the help of computer recording and sampling, the 2 began writing music and sending each other ideas via email. After a few months Stankbait invited Marty Ferrara into the mix. Live, Stringy D plays guitar, Gary "shoots off his mouth", and Marty plays bass on top of these samples and original recorded tracks. The idea is to have fun exploring music and ideas without restriction. While "Stankbait" the name brewed from many nights spent fishing on the muddy river banks of Cincinnati, the meaning of "Stankbait" stands for much more than what you stick on a hook.
